Let’s Start The New Year Right

Accordion Player Pat Posted on January 4, 2021 by pwalterJanuary 4, 2021

Let’s Start The New Year Right – Written by Irving Berlin in 1942. My wish to you – Happy New Year! Another absolutely beautiful song from 1942 presented as a Musical Memory – Songs I remember hearing and playing when I grew up in the 1940’s and 1950’s. I often played out of the two old Black Fake Books my Mom bought. I thought I would share some of those wonderful songs of the past. Beautiful songs with rich chords, melodies, rhythms and wonderful words. How so many wonderful songs have been born from those 7 white keys and 5 black keys is a true miracle of music to me. The number of song choices is in the thousands. I hope you enjoy the little bit of the past I share with you. Bing Crosby sang this song in the film Holiday Inn to ring the New Year in.… Read the rest

All I Want for Christmas is a Great Big Hug and Say Goodbye to the Covid Bug

Accordion Player Pat Posted on January 4, 2021 by pwalterJanuary 4, 2021

All I Want for Christmas is a Great Big Hug, Say Goodbye to the Covid Bug. Something different. Sitting at lunch thinking about what Christmas song I could do and started humming this when all of a sudden new words were found! A Parady on All I Want for Christmas is my Two Front Teeth! It was fun to do. Don Gardner did the words and Music in 1946 to the original song. He might not be happy with my version, but then again, he isn’t living thru the Covid age.… Read the rest

Winter Wonderland

Accordion Player Pat Posted on January 4, 2021 by pwalterJanuary 4, 2021

Winter Wonderland. After this week’s snowfall, I thought this was the song to play. Both a Christmas Song and Snow song! Very pretty song. I hope you enjoy my invitation to play in the snow for a few minutes! “Winter Wonderland” is a song written in 1934 by Felix Bernard and lyricist Richard Bernhard Smith. Due to its seasonal theme, it is often regarded as a Christmas song in the Northern Hemisphere. Since its original recording by Richard Himber, it has been covered by over 200 different artists.… Read the rest

The Christmas Song

Accordion Player Pat Posted on December 17, 2020 by pwalterDecember 17, 2020

The Christmas Song. I would like to wish everyone a very Merry Christmas and Happy New Year. No better way to do that than in a song. This is a beautiful song and a favorite of mine. I would normally do it as an instrumental, but I keep getting people asking me to sing. So I put my best effort forth and did a vocal with it. I hope it brightens your spiritis a bit. The Christmas Song is also commonly referred as “Chestnuts Roasting on an Open Fire” due to its famous opening lyrics and has been spreading Yuletide spirit since 1945, when it was written by pianist Mel Tormé and lyricist Bob Wells. While this beloved tune has been recorded by numerous artists over the years, none are more popular than Nat “King” Cole’s, who recorded it four times over the course of his career – and for good reason.… Read the rest

Nuttin’ For Christmas. Still having fun, but a little sad since I’m getting nothing for Christmas! LOL Cute song. Had fun doing the music and video. I hope it brings a smile to your face as you reminisce about your childhood. Words and music by Roy Bennet and Sid Tepper 1955. Thank You to the wonderful artists at Pixabay for the cute graphics.… Read the rest

Jingle Bell Rock

Accordion Player Pat Posted on December 6, 2020 by pwalterDecember 6, 2020

Jingle Bell Rock. Always a favorite of mine, much fun to play. Can remember playing it way back in the ’80s. Don’t think I ever saw an audience that did not clap, sing and/or dance. You just can’t sit still for this one. I hope you enjoy my little video. I did it for fun and not perfection. Perfection is getting pretty far out of my reach these days! “Jingle Bell Rock” is an American popular Christmas song first released by Bobby Helms in 1957 and was composed by Joseph Carleton Beal and James Ross Boothe.… Read the rest

A Marshmallow World

Accordion Player Pat Posted on December 3, 2020 by pwalterDecember 3, 2020

A Marshmallow World. We had beautiful snow this weekend and I thought of this song and Christmas. Mr. Dino and Mr. Roland collaborated on this one. My sister did her thing, the best she could. LOL I have the utmost respect for the wonderful accordionists that do difficult duo and trios. It is very difficult, at least for me. We tried to keep it together, but the snow separated us a few times! LOL I hope you enjoy this beautiful song. Thank You to Pixabay for the beautiful video backgrounds. The words by Carl Signam and music by Peter De Rose 1946 for this beautiful song.… Read the rest

Count Your Blessings

Accordion Player Pat Posted on November 30, 2020 by pwalterNovember 30, 2020

Count Your Blessings. Happy Thanksgiving. I have always like this song and often played it. It really touches my heart. I think my Roland 4X did a great job with fantastic strings and violin. It is often difficult to realize how blessed we are during times of turmoil. “Count Your Blessings (Instead of Sheep)” is a popular song written by Irving Berlin and used in the 1954 film White Christmas. It is commonly performed as a Christmas song, although the lyrics make no reference to the December holiday. Thank You to vimeo-free-videos at pixabay for the beautiful background.” If you’re worried and you can’t sleep, Just count your blessings instead of sheep and you’ll fall asleep counting your blessings”… Read the rest

Addams Family Theme

Accordion Player Pat Posted on November 3, 2020 by pwalterNovember 3, 2020

Happy Halloween! I decided to do one more Halloween video, after all what else does a lone, single lady do on Halloween? I had so much fun with this one. Sorry, it went long. At 76, I can never remember if I did it 4 or 5 times! LOL The sound is a little crazy and the Roland is being pushed a bit into overdrive on purpose. So much fun. I hope you enjoy! The theme for the 1964 TV series The Addams Family was written and arranged by longtime Hollywood film and television composer Vic Mizzy. Thank You to the artists at Pixabay for the graphics and musicians at Freesound for the background effects. So much fun.… Read the rest

Accordion Player Pat Posted on November 3, 2020 by pwalterNovember 3, 2020

The Purple People Eater – One more Halloween Sing Along. I always liked this song and loved to sing it back in the day. It was a lot of fun to sing today. Many words, but I got most of them in. Hope you enjoy it and sing along. “The Purple People Eater” is a novelty song written and performed by Sheb Wooley, which reached No. 1 in the Billboard pop charts in 1958 from June 9 to July 14… Read the rest
