I always loved this song. My Mom’s parents came from Czechoslovakia, but my Mom’s hair was red and everyone thought she was Irish! March 1st – time for Irish Music. I love to play Irish music – although most of what I play is American Irish music, not traditional original Irish music. Back in the day, we always played at our local pub/bar/lounge for St. Patrick’s Day. Always great fun – always large crowds. I like the fast songs and play a lot of them, but I like the tear jerkers and “Mother Songs” Can’t believe how may Mother songs are in my books. I often played out of the two old Black Fake Books my Mom bought. I thought I would share some of those wonderful songs of the past. Beautiful songs with rich chords, melodies, rhythms and wonderful words. How so many wonderful songs have been born from those 7 white keys and 5 black keys is a true miracle of music to me. I would normally do it as an instrumental, but I keep getting people asking me to sing. So I put my best effort forth and did a vocal with it. I hope it brightens your spiritis a bit.
