Galway Bay
March 1st – time for Irish Music. I love to play Irish music – although most of what I play is American Irish music, not traditional original Irish music. Back in the day, we always played at our local pub/bar/lounge for St. Patrick’s Day. Always great fun – always large crowds. I like the fast songs and play a lot of them, but I like the tear jerkers and “Mother Songs” Can’t believe how may Mother songs are in my books. Guess the immigrants really missed their Ireland and their Mothers and families. Galway Bay is always a favorite of mine. I hope you like my kick off to Irish Month. Galway Bay was written by Arthur Colahan in Leicester in 1947.
