Pretend

Accordion Player Pat Posted on April 7, 2021 by pwalterApril 7, 2021

Pretend – Seemed like a nice song to start the week. I play this quite often, but you would never know it by the video. Bring out the camera and bang, the fingers are on their own. LOL I had the most fun playing with the graphics for my fantasy world. Yes, I am slightly transparent in the video since I was in my own dreamland. I hope you enjoy my little accordion piece. “Pretend” is a popular song, written in 1952 by Dan Belloc, Lew Douglas, Cliff Parman and Frank Levere. The best-known recording was by Nat King Cole in 1953.… Read the rest

Happy Easter. I celebrate with a chocolate bunny and a few fun songs. The Bunny Hop, Here Come Peter Cottontail and Easter Parade. I hope you enjoy the songs and hum or dance along.
The Bunny Hop has been generally done to Ray Anthony’s big band recording of the song with this name. It was a vocal hit in 1952.
Here Comes Peter Cottontail is a popular secular Easter song composed in 1949, by Steve Nelson and Jack Rollins.
Easter Parade is a popular song, written by Irving Berlin and published in 1933. Berlin originally wrote the melody in 1917, under the title Smile and Show Your Dimple.… Read the rest

Accordion Player Pat with her Roland FR 4X Digital Accordion

I would like to Thank everyone who takes time to visit my website. I am not a professional accordionist, I am just an oldster having fun with old music. I hope to bring a smile to a few faces.

I played accordion most of my life. Started in 1951 when I was 6 years old. During the 80’s and 90’s, my ex and I played as a duo known as the Good Time Two. We parted ways in 2008 and I did not play much after that.

Then several years ago I bought a Roland FR 4X Digital Accordion, which I love. Also have purchased a couple acoustic accordions since they are fun to play too. I hope you enjoy my music.

All of my videos are featured on my YouTube Channel

Your Cheatin’ Heart

Accordion Player Pat Posted on March 29, 2021 by pwalterMarch 29, 2021

“Your Cheatin’ Heart” – This morning I opened my big fat country music fakebook right to page 250. I thought it a sign from the universe, PLAY THIS SONG. LOL So I got my cowboy hat out, my harmonica and guitar and had at it. Much fun for me. I hope you sing along and enjoy as much as I did. “Your Cheatin’ Heart” is a song written and recorded by country music singer-songwriter Hank Williams in 1952. It is regarded as one of country’s most important standards.… Read the rest

Who Can I Turn To

Accordion Player Pat Posted on March 28, 2021 by pwalterMarch 28, 2021

“Who Can I Turn to When Nobody Needs Me” is one of my absolute favorite songs to play. It was written in 1964 by Anthony Newley and Leslie Bricusse. I had the rare privilege of seeing Anthony Newley on stage in NY in Stop the World I Want To Get Off early in the 60’s. I have always loved his singing. I hope you enjoy my rendition of Who Can I Turn To.… Read the rest

My New Hats – Sioux City Sue, Over Three Hills, Sitting on Top of the World and 2 more

Accordion Player Pat Posted on March 28, 2021 by pwalterMarch 28, 2021

Cowboy – Sioux City Sue
Trolyen – Over Three Hills
Red – I’m Sitting On Top of the World
Brown, rust – Ballin’ The Jack
Blue – Blue Hawaii

My New Hats – A piece of silliness that came to life when my wonderful friend in NC asked me to tell her what I bought. Who doesn’t like buying hats on Amazon. LOL Such a selection. I find it fun to wear different hats with some of my videos. My silver, white hair gives the camera fits against the darker backgrounds. So a hat is a simple solution to a better looking video. I thought I would play a song for each hat!!!! That was fun filming. I am 76 and can’t remember my name some days, so trying to remember and transition between 5 songs was interesting and fun – to say the least. I should have been drinking, I am sure of that! The songs are not perfect but just a fun song for each hat.… Read the rest

Dansero

Accordion Player Pat Posted on March 28, 2021 by pwalterMarch 28, 2021

Dansero felt like a Spring song. So I thought I would play and dance through the Spring flowers. It is fun even if you just watch the pretty flowers. I am ready for them!!! Dansero was written in 1953 by Richard Haymand and Lee Daniels. Hope it might make you feel a bit Springy and bouncy.… Read the rest

Spring is Here

Accordion Player Pat Posted on March 23, 2021 by pwalterMarch 23, 2021

Spring is Here. An absolutely beautiful old song. Matt posted the cover of the sheet music this morning. I looked it up and found this wonderful song. Written by Richard Rogers and Lorenz Hart in 1938 for the musical I Married An Angel. It is actually a bit sad since the singer is lamenting about the fact that he is sad since nobody loves him this Spring. I went looking for great Spring photos to illustrate the video with and decided to use my own poetry/art works about Spring. I hope you enjoy this song. I would like to have practiced it longer, but if I did the “beginning of Spring” day would be over. LOL… Read the rest

Let’s Have Another Cup of Coffee and Let’s Have Another Piece of Pie

Accordion Player Pat Posted on March 18, 2021 by pwalterMarch 18, 2021

Let’s Have Another Cup of Coffee and Let’s Have Another Piece of Pie was written by Irving Berlin in 1932. I have fun singing this one. It’s old, but the lyrics are still as good today as in 1932 except we have different presidents! A cup of coffee and a piece of pie always makes us feel good. A second cup of coffee and another piece of pie is even better! I hope you enjoy this silly song and go find yourself a nice piece of pie!… Read the rest

Mother Machree

Accordion Player Pat Posted on March 17, 2021 by pwalterMarch 17, 2021

This is another beautiful song about Mother Machree. It talks about how much she is loved and cherished. I was looking for graphics and could not find a good Mother Machree, so I used my 96 year old Mom’s photo since I feel the same about her. Especially when I think about her since she passed away 3 years ago. The Irish seemed to write many songs about their homeland and their “Mothers”. This is just a beautiful song to me. I hope you enjoy it.… Read the rest

If I Knock The L Out Of Kelly

Accordion Player Pat Posted on March 17, 2021 by pwalterMarch 17, 2021

Another fun song the audience always liked. It was written by Sam M. Lewis, Joe Young & Bert Grant in 1922. Cute story line. I hope it will make you smile are at least decided to get another beer! LOL… Read the rest
