What I Did For Love
What I Did For Love. I love this song and it is obviously a torch song for many of us older folk. I had the priviledge of playing in the pit band for a local production of The Chorus Line. Great music. I did not get to play accordion, LOL, but played sax, flute and clarinet. I thought Mr. Dino would give it a nice acoustic sound. “What I Did for Love” is a song from the musical A Chorus Line with music by Marvin Hamlisch and lyrics by Edward Kleban. For the younger set – A torch song is a sentimental love song, typically one in which the singer laments an unrequited or lost love, either where one party is oblivious to the existence of the other, where one party has moved on, or where a romantic affair has affected the relationship.
