Accordion Player Pat Posted on August 28, 2021 by pwalterAugust 28, 2021

My Best Friend composed by George Frank. He wrote it for his son John when he left home to join the Navy at 17 years old. An adventure for his son and memories for George. This is a pretty waltz with a story many parents understand.… Read the rest

Accordion Player Pat Posted on August 28, 2021 by pwalterAugust 28, 2021

Lately, I had a few folks mention my bass work and noting the syncopation. Sometimes it is difficult to hear the bass with all the other notes being played. I am not a teacher or advanced player, but I thought I would share my simple bass solution. … Read the rest

Paradise Lane

Accordion Player Pat Posted on August 28, 2021 by pwalterAugust 28, 2021

Paradise Lane. George Frank shared his transcription of this old, saloon song. It is a waltz and I am sorry to the composer and George for not playing it as a waltz. Midnight With The Stars and You is a beautiful old song from 1934. George Frank shared his transcription of the song. It was composed by Harry Woods and Reg Connelly. It was recorded by the Ray Nobel Orchestra with Al Bowlly on vocals. I had fun playing it and decided to share an impromptu video. Not perfect, but gives you an idea how pretty the song is.… Read the rest

Absent Minded Flo

Accordion Player Pat Posted on August 28, 2021 by pwalterAugust 28, 2021

Absent Minded Flo. A silly old song. Just came across it in my files while looking for something else. I always enjoyed playing it. Sometimes we played it for an audience. Not my best vocal effort, but it was fun singing and playing it. Probably a song only us really mature folks would know. LOL Written by J Fred Coots; Sidney Clare; Charles Tobias in 1933.… Read the rest
